PMB equips Lilium for the production of revolutionary jet drive units

Kaiserslautern/Munich, 04-Apr-2024: Since 2020, PMB has supported the development of the Lilium Jet Propulsion System with balancing equipment and services.  We are proud to now see our innovative technologies being implemented into the production of the Lilium Jet’s Propulsion System. We are delighted that the collaboration has developed into a successful and efficient partnership.

Chris-Mario Mielke, [Lilium, Factory Project Manager Propulsion]: “Due to their extensive knowledge, PMB-Bobertag is a strong partner who we are confident will continue to support us throughout the entire product life cycle.”

We at PMB have been enthusiastic supporters of the Lilium project since the first enquiry. The Lilium concept is sound and right. The decision to have a high level of vertical integration right down to the individual motors is also inspiring. Lilium thus becomes better than the state of the art and retains full control over its own IP.

Dr Manfred Bobertag, Managing Owner at PMB: “As a frequent traveler, I know the mobility situation very well – Lilium’s technical concept immediately electrified me. I am proud that my PMB team and our balancing technology provide important support for Lilium.

About PMB:

The goal of PMB-Präzisionsmaschinenbau Bobertag GmbH is clearly formulated: To push the boundaries of balancing technology in the high-tech sector. The concept worked. PMB is growing in all areas and is translating its technological leadership in the field of ultra-precise balancing into growing market shares year after year.

PMB is primarily active in the B2B business and supports customers all over the world. The majority of sales are still generated in Europe, but the share in North America and Asia is growing rapidly. PMB’s customers come from almost all industries: Energy, automotive, aerospace, space, optics, machining and medical technology.

As a rule, PMB supports its customers as early as the product development stage. The first prototype balancing operations are carried out manually at PMB, and PMB also supports the start of series production with its balancing services. As the number of units increases, fully automated PMB machines are then used at the customer’s production sites around the world. This intensive support is one of the building blocks of success – regardless of whether cars or dental drills need to run more quietly.
